THE LAST ELEPHANT OFFENSIVE - Sangshak North Burma 1944
Design by Brian Knipple
The Japanese drive to India had to go through Imphal. Key to their plan
was cutting the British supply line by taking Kohima. Two divisions set
to this task were delayed by a thrown-together brigade of British,
Indian, and Nepalese troops at Sangshak, one of the fiercest small
battles of the Southeast Asian Theater.
